Imagine Wine is a true boutique winery producing aromatic and delicious wines in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley, near Santa Barbara, California. Our wines are hand crafted by our winemaker, Ross Jay Rankin, in the state of the art Terravant facility. Ross sources extraordinary grapes from the renowned vineyards of the California central coast. His signature Paradise Mountain Syrah and Viognier are made exclusively from the highly sought after grapes of a unique vineyard in the eastern hills of Santa Barbara County. Begun in 2000, Imagine Wine now has a complement of fine, limited production wines to suit any wine lovers' tastes. Imagine sharing a little (maybe more than a little) wine with your friends and deciding to create a winery...we did and we want to share our wines with you! – Description from Ross Jay Rankin

  • Charles Smith has a couple of products available here; he was, I think a musician and a bit of weird dude (or hipster), but had a flair with wine and did not break the banks of the average middle class patron.  No, you cannot go wrong with CS, only, change may be on the horizon; the property was sold (and why not? - Smith made himself a fortune ... • I can imagine the hidden powers of that Alexander Valley wine.  Nice country up there, and when I went through there last (a while back, I concede) the wines seemed to have more finesse and elegance (those based on Cabernet Sauvignon, at any rate) than all but the best from the relatively close-by Napa-Sonoma region.  There is a certain purity a... • Hi everybody.  I returned last Sunday from two weeks in Italy.  We flew Vancouver to Paris and spent the first day walking everywhere, basically "Paris in six hours".  Saw Palace of Versailles the next day and more walking around Notre Dame and Sacre Coeur.  Flew to Bologna that evening.  Next day we took a train to Florence and spend three days... •  I love that there are wineries there producing relatively tiny volumes of wine like here. 75 cases in California?  Good luck finding that anywhere!  Buy it only at the winery probably eh? I posted an Apsara not too long ago that had a production of 37 cases.  I order their wines on-line from their website -- https://apsaracellars.com/ -- but I ... • So on a whim we decided to visit British Columbia. But we flew up to Washington, so visited a few places there too. Totally off the subject of wine, I found an awesome bakery in Spokane and the girl there served me this thing that I thought was a kind of Parmesan cheese foam. In fact it was fermented cashew whip, which was definitely weird, but ... Read More

  • Read up on Lindeman's thread, and thought this would be a good topic to discuss. To Greg's point about blending Merlot and sometimes Cabernet in with Chianti blends, I hear that trend had been on the downswing, which is probably a good thing for Chianti proper, though there will be some really good "Super Tuscan's" made from the blending as well.... • T-vine was a very nice little winery. I haven't heard of them for a while, but I imagine that bottle should be fairly nice. The back label of that 2007 bottle identified Greg Brown as the owner/winemaker/visionary of T-Vine.  Just the way it was written caused me to do some searching.  It turns out he died in 2011.  I also found out that he'd sol... • Lately I've been interested in learning more about CA regions other than Napa. So I've been tasting quite a bit from producers that don't find their way out east, where it's often easier to get wine from Europe than from the US, at least in NYC.First, I have to give a huge shout out to Bryan Harrington. He's gone around the state and found reall... Read More
